PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst-bearing structure body, a production method of the structure body excellent in interlayer adhesion strength, free from interfering colors and crack formation, and a composition for intermediate layer formation. ;SOLUTION: The photocatalyst-bearing structure body comprises a support, an intermediate layer formed on the support using a composition for intermediate layer formation containing 0.5-20 wt.% (based on the solid matter) of acrylic silicone resin or epoxy silicone resin, 0.25-4 wt.% (based on the solid matter) of a metal oxide sol and/or a metal hydroxide sol, 0.25-20 wt.% (based n the solid matter) of a silicon compound, which is a partial hydrolysis product of a tetraalkoxysilane with the average degree of polymerization of 3-10 and contains not more than 5 wt.% of monomers, and water in an amount equivalent to 0.5-3 times as much as the mole of the solid silicon compound, and a photocatalyst layer of a composition containing a metal oxide sol or a metal hydroxide sol, a photocatalyst particle or sol with a silicon compound on the surface of the intermediate layer.
