PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermochromic composition which has a naturally achromatizing temperature range for naturally achromatizing from a color-developing state and a color development-holding temperature range for holding a color-developing state in a temperature range below a color development-starting temperature, and is especially suitable in a temperature-indicating field, and to provide a thermochromic microcapsule pigment encapsulating the same.;SOLUTION: This thermochromic composition comprises (A) an electron-donating coloring organic compound, (B) 4,4-oxybisphenol as an electron-receiving compound, and (C) a reaction medium for determining a temperature for causing the coloration reactions of (A) and (B).
