PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for calculating an eroded amount of a furnace material capable of calculating the eroded amount of the furnace material of a glass melting furnace due to molten glass through the use of mathematical simulation.;SOLUTION: This method for calculating the eroded amount of the furnace material of a glass melting furnace due to molten glass through the use of mathematical simulation comprises an input step (S1) for inputting structural data of the molten glass 12 and the furnace material 11 in a model of the glass melting furnace, operation data of the glass melting furnace and physical property data of the molten glass 12 and the furnace material 11; a boundary temperature calculation step (S2) for calculating a boundary temperature (hereafter referred to as a stationary boundary temperature) between the molten glass 12 and the furnace material 11 when a stationary state is achieved after some time elapsed, based on the structural data, the operation data and the physical property data with a proviso of conditions that the furnace material is not eroded; and a calculation step (S3) for calculating the eroded amount of the furnace material after a prescribed time based on the stationary boundary temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
