PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the consistency of assembling of components in the case of dividing the design of an assembly including the plurality of components into a plurality of sub-assemblies to design the assembly.;SOLUTION: The design of the assembly is divided into a plurality of packages in each sub-assembly and the design of each package is independently performed. In the case of designing each package, an assembly skeleton having reference coordinate system information 54 is arranged, the shape data 60 of a part A which is an initial component are arranged in accordance with the reference coordinate system information and the shape data 68, etc. of a part B are successively assembled and arranged on an assembling position on the part A. Respective designed packages on which all constitutional components are assembled are successively assembled so that the reference coordinate system information is allowed to coincide with each other, so that the whole assembly can be designed.
