PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steel material having high uniformity by controlling the distribution of water on a plate which is generated when a high-temperature thick steel plate is conveyed while restraining it with restraining rolls and cooled from upper and lower parts by using spray nozzles.;SOLUTION: This cooling system of the thick steel plate is constituted so that a nozzle box 4a having a plurality of flat spray nozzles 7 arranged on the side of the upper surface is included, the angle α of torsion of the axial line of a colliding part of the jet stream 8 from the nozzle which is jetted from the flat spray nozzle 7 is 20-45° to the advancing direction of the steel plate 6, the arrangement of the shapes 9 of colliding parts of the jet stream from the nozzles is symmetrical about the center line L in the width direction of the steel plate 6, the arrangement of the shapes 9 of the colliding parts of the jet stream from the nozzles is different across a center line M between the restraining rolls 5₁, 5₂ in the advancing direction of the steel plate 6, that is, arranged approximately radially from the center point O in the width direction of the steel plate 6 and between the restraining rolls 5₁, 5₂ in the advancing direction of the steel plate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
