PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug connector with a FPC connecting shield function which can be thinned and whose number of parts can be reduced and to provide a FPC fitting method for the plug connector with the FPC connecting shield function which can improve an operational efficiency in fitting the FPC. SOLUTION: The plug connector A with the FPC connecting shield function consists of a contact 10, a shell 20 and an insulator 30, a receptacle connector fitting portion 71 to fit be fitted in a receptacle connector at one end of the insulator 30 and a FPC fitting portion 72 to be fitted in the FPC at the opposite side are provided, and the insulator 30 is provided with the contact 10 by insert molding. The shall 20 is formed by means of press working by stamping out an electrically conductive sheet metal.
