PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regularly prepare an optimum control voltage for actuator.;SOLUTION: In this method for regulating control voltage for piezoelectric actuator of injection valve, the pressure within a hydraulic coupler 4 is measured indirectly prior to the next injection process. The pressure induces a corresponding voltage within a piezoelectric actuator 2 since the actuator 2 is mechanically connected to the hydraulic coupler 4. The induced voltage is used to correct the control voltage Ua for the actuator 2 prior to the next injection process. An extremely slight induced voltage is evaluated as an error for detecting an injection misfire. An injection valve 1 is advantageously used for a common rail system for injecting fuel for a gasoline engine or diesel engine.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
