PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleepiness predicting apparatus considering that the degree of sleepiness of a subject varies according to the daytime activity, the hour, or the state of sleeping of the subject. PSOLUTION: The sleepiness predicting apparatus 10 consists of a sensor head 14 to be attached to a fingertip of the subject and a wristwatch-type body 12. The sleepiness predicting apparatus measures a sleeping state-related value related to the state of sleeping of the subject and measures a daytime activity-related value related to the daytime activity of the subject. The degree of accumulated sleepiness which is predicted to be accumulated by the history of sleeping and the daytime activity of the subject is computed based on the sleeping state-related value and the daytime activity-related value, and the degree of biorythm sleepiness based on the biorythm which varies by hour is computed. Then, the overall degree of sleepiness corresponding to the hour is computed based on the degree of accumulated sleepiness and the degree of biorythm sleepiness. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
