PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new 1,2-dioxetane derivative having high thermal stability and high light-emitting efficiency, visually recognizable owing to its reddish color, easy to handle and useful in the field of clinical test, etc. ;SOLUTION: This compound is a 1,2-dioxetane derivative expressed by formula I [R1 to R5 are each H, an alkyl, an aryl or the like; Ar is a group of formula II (R6 is hydroxyl or the like; R7 is H, an alkyl, an aryl or the like; V is O or S) or the like], e.g. the compound of formula III. The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by reacting a dihydrofuran derivative of formula IV (R61 is an alkoxy or the like; (R61) Ar is a group of formula V or the like) having an aryl group substituted with R61, a compound obtained by the deprotection of the derivative of formula IV or a compound produced by introducing a silyloxy group or a phosphate group into the deprotected derivative of formula IV with singlet oxygen.
