PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint which can make the lift of a surface subject to placement lower on the side of an inner groove 116 than on the side of a lower groove.;SOLUTION: This expansion joint 10, which is arranged between first and second foundations 2 and 6 facing each other with a gap G in between, comprises: the inner groove 16 which is elongated in a Y-direction so as to be formed in a passage surface 12; the outer groove 20 which is positioned on the outside with respect to the inner groove 16, and elongated in the Y-direction so as to be formed in the passage surface 12; the lower groove 24 which is positioned in an almost central part between the inner groove 16 and the outer groove 20, and elongated in the Y-direction so as to be formed in a surface 13 to be passed; a plurality of parts 28 to be fixed, which are fixed to the respective foundations 2 and 6 formed in such a manner as to be arranged at an end 30 along the Y-direction; and a top plate 38 which is provided between the inner groove 16 and the outer groove 20 and on the side of the passage surface 12 with respect to the lower groove 24. The inner groove 16 is formed in such a shape that a distance d1 between from the passage surface 12 to a bottom part 18 of the inner groove 16 is almost equal to or longer than a distance d2 from the passage surface 12 to a bottom part 22 of the outer groove 20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
