PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective branch mechanism and a steering method in a branch way which can travel by safely and surely selecting a desired track on the branch way with a simple configuration in a vehicle traveling along a predetermined track and having a fail-safe mechanism.;SOLUTION: A protective track 3 is provided on the track, and a bracket 21 mounting the protective wheels 22, 23 fitting to the protective track in a non-contacting state is turnably mounted to a lower part of the vehicle around the support shaft 24.
