PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fail-safe mechanism in the case when abnormality occurs in a steering system and the mechanism capable of correcting the vehicle position to an initial original position in case when a deviation occurs at the traveling position on the track of the vehicle in the vehicle having an automatic steering system which travels along a predetermined track.;SOLUTION: The vehicle position correction mechanism is provided with a protective track 3 on the track of the vehicle 1, and has a fail-safe function which contacts to the protective track 3 and mechanically steers when an abnormality occurs in the steering mechanism in the protective wheels 22, 23 fitting to the protective track in a non-contacting state. The vehicle position correction mechanism is provided with a vehicle position correction section which contacts on the protective wheels by narrowing the width of the protective track 3 over the section of not less than at least the vehicle length at the part of the protective track 3 so as to forcibly position the vehicle on the moving trajectory formed by the protective track 3, and correct the vehicle position to the initial original position.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
