PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print content alteration control method of a laser marking system in which the time loss incident to alteration of a print character string can be reduced when a plurality of objects are printed while altering the print character string. PSOLUTION: Based on set information concerning the print content inputted by a user, development data including line segment information for defining the track of a print laser beam on the imaginary coordinate of each character, and character coordinate information indicating the position of a plurality of characters in the entire print area by absolute coordinate is formed for each of the plurality of characters constituting the print character string. Prior to a print execution command, line segment information is formed for a plurality of characters specified by a user as objects of high speed character alteration and stored in a memory as high speed alteration character line segment information. When a character specified by the user as an object of high speed character alteration is included in the altered character string, that high speed alteration character line segment information is read out from the memory and the line segment information of each print character included in the development information is rewritten.
