PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device, and a system for obtaining related words, in which one can expect to obtain words closely related to input words, and a computer program.;SOLUTION: The method involves first steps S3, S5, S7, S9 for selecting two directly related categories from five interconnected categories 18-22, and second steps S4, S6, S8, S10 for accessing a document database 3 while using as search keys two words belonging to the two categories selected, to obtain the number of documents searched. The first and second steps are sequentially and repeatedly executed for each category from one category 18 to another category 22.
