Method for extracting calcified (calcified) and pyritised fossils from calcareous rocks is based on the difference in dissolution rate macrocrystalline and microcrystalline calcite in 38% sulfuric acid and consists of the following steps: - preparing a sample for etching comprising drying the fossil and surrounding rock; - Immersing the dry sample in a container of sulfuric acid which is covered by a lid; - The sample is left in the bath for a period of one minute to 48 hours; - Removing a sample from the bath and washing it under lukewarm water; - Immersing the sample in a neutralizing bath for a period of 1-12 hours; - Removal and drying of the sample. Equipment for the extraction of calcified fossils from calcareous rocks consists of a container of sulfuric acid, a known dryer or drying equipment and cleaning equipment.
