The report concerns the approach and methods that are available to obtain engineering geology data through surface and subsurface investigations and testing for use in the design of rock slopes. In this respect mapping, drilling, geophysical, photogrammetry and other methods are discussed. Strength evaluation includes methods to assess compressive strength, such as field estimates, point load index tests and uniaxial compressive tests. Shear strength testing is also discussed.
