The present invention refers to Agavinas products and the compositions thereof, as well as their manufacture and use in food and medicine, since these types of agave fructans have a prebiotic effect higher than that of commercial insulin, thus stimulating in a more efficient manner the growth of some types of bifidobacteria, also significantly reducing weight gain and food intake, as well as increasing faeces excretion, reducing the concentrations of glucose, triglycerides and cholesterol in a postpandrial state, increasing the concentration of the glucagon like peptide (GLP-1), so that the impact thereof over the control and handle of obesity and diabetes, and further related diseases, is of great importance.
