The method involves bringing a flow of gas i.e. flue gas, stream at a temperature of 250 degree Celsius into contact with a solid phase in which silicon and calcium or calcium silicate is included. Calcium carbonate, calcium oxide, silicon aluminate, silicon carbide and silicon dioxide are included in the solid phase. Precursors are converted into calcium silicate at specific temperature. A solid surface is provided for making the precursors, and gas flows in treated areas of the solid surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing precursor.
