The invention relates to an esophageal dilator for retrograde transcardial approach, meant to be used in surgical interventions in cases of esophageal stenosis pathology. According to the invention, the dilator comprises a body (1) having a cylinder-shaped zone (h) continued at its ends by some olives (e and f) of elliptical cross section, the olive (e) continuing by a cylindrical portion (c), a neck (b) and a threaded socket (a) to be fixed into an esophageal spark plug (2), while the olive (f) continues with a handling end (g).
