The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for rehabilitating the therapeutical properties of the water from the balneation layer in salt lakes with layered concentration. According to the invention, the method consists in introducing, in continuous flux, the surface water from the balneation layer under the water level with high salt concentration by free gravitational falling, the mixing, transporting and diffusing the rehabilitated water mixture in the surface area of the balneation layer by direct osmosis. According to the invention, the apparatus for carrying out the method consists of one or more intercommunicable recipients (1) inter-connected by means of one or more mixing chambers (3) and separated by some semi-permeable membranes or/and some membranes (4) with selective permeability, the feeding of the mixing chamber/chambers (3) with polluted water from the surface being performed by immersing the ends of the feeding intercommunicable recipients (1) under the level (A) of the surface water and the feeding with saturated brine being performed through the low end of the intercommunicable recipient (1) of discharging the rehabilitated mixture towards the surface.
