A server is configured to maintain a session with a mobile client through a firstmobile service provider. The server is further configured to pre-authenticatea second mobile service provider for handoff. The server is also configured toenable the handoff of the mobile client from the first mobile service providerto the second mobile service provider while maintaining the session with themobile client
