The present invention is directed to the use of the peptide compound Ala-Arg-Leu-Asp-Val-Ala-Ser-Glu-Phe-Arg-Lys-Lys-Trp-Asn-Lys-Trp-Ala-Leu-Ser-Arg-NH2as a therapeutic agent for the prophylaxis and/or treatment of cancer, autoimmunediseases, fibrotic diseases, inflammatory diseases, neurodegenerative diseases,infectious diseases, lung diseases, heart and vascular diseases and metabolicdiseases. Moreover the present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositionspreferably in form of a lyophilisate or liquide buffer solution or artificialmother milk formulation or mother milk substitute containing the peptide Ala-Arg-Leu-Asp-Val-Ala-Ser-Glu-Phe-Arg-Lys-Lys-Trp-Asn-Lys-Trp-Ala-Leu-Ser-Arg-NH2optionally together with at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier,cryoprotectant, lyoprotectant, excipient and/or diluent.
