Device for carrying out the preliminary classification of thin, individualized shipments, whose distribution information has been successfully read, in areas of final classification stations, which have final classification stations, arranged successively, of a shipping sorting machine in accordance with the information read about the distribution and of the assigned area of the final sorting stations, - with several entries (E1, E2, E3) for shipment flows and with several outputs (A1, A2, A3), which they lead respectively to an area of final sorting stations, - the connection of the inputs (E1, E2, E3) with the outputs (A1, A2, A3) being carried out via connection paths, - presenting the connection paths an established topology, which consists of deviation devices (W11 to W33), convergences (Z11 to Z33) and crossings (KZ1-KW1 to KZ6-KW6, K1, K2), - stand or connected at least two inputs (E1, E2, E3), respectively, via a direct connection path, with an output (A1, A2, A3), which is arranged downstream of the corresponding input, and one respectively being connected entry through at least two other connection paths with at least one exit, the exit of which is arranged downstream of another entrance, - the other connection paths having, respectively, a section, which branches from the corresponding direct connection path, which is assigned to the corresponding input, in a diversion device (W11 to B33) and whose connection path leads to the direct connection path, which is assigned to the corresponding output, in a convergence (Z11 to Z33), - presenting each of these sections, which propagate from a direct connection path to another direct connection path, at least one junction (KZ1-KW1 to KZ6-KW6; K1, K2) with at least one section, which propagates from this other direct connection path to the first direct connection path, - and distribution of the shipments can be carried out through the corresponding diversion devices ( W11 to W33) in the drying sections of the other connection paths in such a way that the necessary gaps are formed, to avoid collisions between the shipments, at the crossings (KZ1-KW1 to KZ6-KW6; K1, K2) and in the convergences (Z11 to Z33).
