The gaseous effluent to be treated is contacted in the column C1 with an absorbent solution which is chosen for its property to form two separable phases when heated. The regenerated absorbent solution is separated into two phases in the flask B1: a water-rich phase and a phase rich in reactive compounds. The separation makes it possible to optimize the operations performed on the regenerated absorbent solution. On the one hand, the separation makes it possible to carry out the vaporization by the reboiler R1 of a fraction of the absorbent solution, preferably containing a concentration of reduced reactive compounds relative to the absorbing solution, thus limiting their degradation. Phase separation also makes it possible to reduce the amount of solution to be treated in order to eliminate the non-regenerable salts and thus to reduce the costs associated with their elimination. The separation finally makes it possible to eliminate the degradation products by carrying out a specific and appropriate purification for each of the phases. The process can be applied to the decarbonation of combustion fumes, deacidification of natural gas or synthesis gas.
