Disclosed is a technique for obtaining a coagulogenraw material which can irreversibly inactivate theactivity of a coagulase while retaining the functionof coagulogen in an LAL reagent, a LAL reagentcontaminated by an organism-derived biologicallyactive substance or the like, and which can be used ina reagent. An LAL reagent is heated at a predeterminedtemperature for a predetermined period of time todeactivate only the activity of an enzyme contained inthe LAL reagent irreversibly, wherein such an activityinherent in coagulogen that coagulogen can be hydrolyzedwith the activated coagulase and converted to coagulinto induce gelatinization or an agglutination reactionis retained.
