A capacitive sensor for detecting a measurement variable comprises a hollow space (10), which has an outwardly curved external wall (20), wherein a dielectric liquid (30) can be introduced in the hollow space (10), which dielectric liquid (30) leaves part (40) of the hollow space (10) free, with the part (40) having a dielectric constant which is different to that of the dielectric liquid (30). The capacitive sensor furthermore has a first surface electrode (50) and a second surface electrode (60), which are configured in the hollow space (10) such that a movement (Δs) of the part (40) in the dielectric liquid (30) along the outwardly curved external wall (10) in response to the measurement variable results in a change in capacitance between the first and second surface electrodes (50, 60).
