The invention relates to a device (10) for mixing the content (12) of a fermentation or digestion vessel (1), having a suction line (22) by which the content (12) can be suctioned out of the fermentation or digestion vessel (1), a pressure line (24) by which the suctioned content (12) can be returned to the fermentation or digestion vessel (1), and a pump (26) which is connected to the suction line (22) on one end and the pressure line (24) on the other end, wherein the pump (26) and at least one section of the suction line (22) and the pressure line (24) are arranged outside of the fermentation or digestion vessel (1), and wherein the suction line (22) and the pressure line (24) are conducted into the interior of the fermentation or digestion vessel (1) by way of fluid-tight and/or gas-tight feed-throughs (28, 30).
