PURPOSE: A driving device of a liquid crystal device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve brightness efficiency of an image by driving an ECB sub pixel with the same method as the RGB sub pixels at an optical viewing angle mode.;CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel(2) includes unit pixels comprised of R,G,B sub pixels and ECB sub pixels. A driving controller drives gate lines and data lines of a liquid crystal panel. A viewing angle controller(10) supplies a viewing angle control voltage to viewing angle control lines of the liquid crystal panel. A first NMOS TFT supplies the image signal to a pixel electrode in response to a scan pulse inputted from the current group gate line among gate lines. A second NMOS TFT supplies the external common voltage to top and bottom common electrodes according to the viewing angle control voltage from the viewing angle control line. The third NMOS TFT electrically connects the bottom common electrode and the pixel electrode to equalize the potential in response to a scan pulse from a front end gate line.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
