PURPOSE: A robot applying solar battery and a charging method thereof are provided to charge the power by collecting indoor light and outdoor ray and applying the solar power generation system which charges power with the solar battery to the power system of the robot.;CONSTITUTION: The robot applying solar battery includes a light information acquisition unit, a power supply unit, a central processing unit, and a storage. The light information acquisition unit(22) collects light quantity for each movement section during self-control movement. The power supply unit charges the power with the light power generation and uses the charged power as the power supply. The central processing unit constructs the light information database which it classifies the light quantity for each movement section obtained by the light information acquisition unit. The central processing unit extracts the maximum light amount location information for each hour from the light information database. The central processing unit uses the maximum light amount location corresponding to the latency time in the standby state and controls the power charge through the solar power generation. The storage(40) stores the light information database and the maximum light amount location information constructed by the central processing unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
