PURPOSE: An edge detection device and a line sensor for an edge detection device are provided to accurately detect the edge of a transparent body by supplying a stable output signal to an edge detection part.;CONSTITUTION: An edge detection device comprises a light-transmitting part(1), a photo diode(2), and a detection part(3). The light-transmitting part is composed of a laser light source(10), a transparent lens(12), and a light transmitting window(13). The transparent lens changes the monochrome light to the monochrome collimated light. The photo diode is composed of a light-receiving window(23), a light diffusion element(22), and a line sensor. The detection part detects the edge location on the optical path of the monochrome collimated light by reading the light receiving distribution of the line sensor.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
