PURPOSE: A remote control device and a method for displaying the residual capacity of a battery are provided to enable a user to check the residual capacity of the battery by differently displaying the residual capacity of the battery of remote keyless entry. CONSTITUTION: A remote control device(100) comprises a switch(15), a battery residual capacity displaying part(13), and a controller(20). The switch part is switched by switching control signals. According to the switching state of the switch part, the battery residual capacity displaying part turns on and off one or more LEDs and displays the residual capacity of the battery. The controller senses the voltage of the battery and controls the display of the residual capacity of the battery by outputting switching control signals according to sensed result.
