PURPOSE: Semiconductor nanorods, a method for manufacturing the semiconductor nanorod, solar cell including the semiconductor nanorod, and an electroluminescent device including the semiconductor nanorod are provided to form the nanorod having excellent crystalline without containing a metal catalyst agent by forming the nanorod on a seed. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing nanorods comprises the following steps: offering a substrate(10); forming a seed(15) of an island shape on the substrate; and forming the nanorod(17) on the seed. The seed is the seed of ZnO-based metal oxide. The nanorod is the nanorod of ZnO-based metal oxide. The nanorod has a wurtzite tructure which is highly oriented into c- shaft. The nanorod contains metallic impurities. The metallic impurities are Ga, Al, In, P, and Mg.
