PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing high purity tungsten trioxide powder and a tungsten trioxide manufactured thereby are provided to insure environment-friendly property by reusing waste sludge or waste cemented hard metal.;CONSTITUTION: A method of manufacturing high purity tungsten trioxide powder using waste cemented hard metal comprises the following steps: decarbonizing the waste cemented hard metal including tungsten carbide; crushing the waste cemented hard metal using a milling machine while thermal processing to oxidize the tungsten carbide; selectively removing metallic components contained in the waste cemented hard metal using magnetic separator with magnetic force; and removing a metal or metal oxide contained in the waste cemented hard metal using solubility difference with the tungsten trioxide at an acid solution.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
