PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing data service through a short distance wireless communication, and a converged personal network service server and a mobile communication terminal for the same are provided to enable mobile communication network and portable terminal which is unable to use cellular communication use a data service which can be provided through Cellular communication by performing mobile communication terminal and a short distance wireless communication which performs a role of PN(Personal Network Service) gateway, thereby providing specific contents which user requests to end terminal which does not have a communication function with a mobile communication network.;CONSTITUTION: A contents providing system comprises a CPNS(Converged Personal Network Service) server, a mobile communication terminal, and an end terminal. The CPNS server registers history information by matching the mobile communication terminal corresponding to information of the end terminal according to a connection between the end terminal and mobile communication terminal(S103). The CPNS server provides reply information about a relevant request if the CPNS server receives one of the terminal information request or contents information request which is transferred from a mobile communication terminal(S105,S107). The mobile communication terminal transmits a relevant contents to the end terminal by a connection through at least one of a plurality of a end terminal and a short distance wireless communication network if the mobile communication terminal receives a contents transmission request key signal(S109,S111).
