PURPOSE: A naphathazarin derivative which induces apoptosis of human myelogenous leukemia cell line, U937 cell line, is provided to induce apopsis by caspase-3 activation and to suppress NF-kappaB activation.;CONSTITUTION: A naphthazarin derivative(DMNQ-S17) which induces apoptosis of human myelogenoous leukemia cell line is denoted by chemical formula 1. The apoptosis occurs through caspase-3 activation and NF-kappaB transcription suppression. An anti-cancer activator for treating human myelogenous leukemia contains naphthazarin derivative of chemical formula I or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
