PURPOSE: A composition using ginseng fruit, flower, and stem extract is provided to suppress histamine release and to ensure high anti-allergic effect.;CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating allergy contains ginseng fruit, flower, stem, and leaf extract as an active ingredient. The extract from ginseng contains 1-60 weight% of ginsenoside Re with activity of suppressing histamine release. The ginseng is Panax ginseng, Panax quinquefolium, Panax notoginseng, Panax japonicum, or Panax vietnamensis. The ginseng extract is obtained by heating for 0.5-24 hours with ethyl alcohol, butyl alcohol, or distilled water. The composition is used in the form of tablet, powder, pill, granule, capsule, suspension, emulsion, or syrup.
