PURPOSE: A device and a method for evaluating a gear tooth mesh property are provided to perform a test for overcoming a mesh trouble due to a starter and to optimally design and verify a gear shape for an easy mesh.;CONSTITUTION: A device for evaluating a gear tooth mesh property comprises a driving gear, a driven gear, a frictional torque providing unit(3), a mesh position fixing unit(5), and a controller(1). The driving gear generates torque in drive. The driven gear engages and rotates with the driving gear to transfer the torque of the driving gear. The frictional torque providing unit applies reaction torque corresponding to rotary resistance to the driven gear when the driven gear is rotated. The mesh position fixing unit fixes the location of the driven gear engaging with the driving gear. The controller controls the driving gear and produces the torque value of the frictional torque providing unit. The controller generates a control command by using a control circuit driving the mesh position fixing unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
