PURPOSE: A crack, in a micro-structure of metal, detecting apparatus and a detecting method are provided to process various quantative analyses by differentiating areas wherein a crack exist or is nonexistent, classifying and digitalizing.;CONSTITUTION: A crack, in a micro-structure of metal, detecting apparatus comprises: an image forming unit(100) which directs light to the surface of metal, receives the light which is reflected from the metal surface or is scattered, and creates an image; and a crack detection unit(200) which detects the existence of a crack by using the brightness of the image and comprise an image pre-processor(210) which receives a color image and converts into a black and white image, a binarizing unit(220) which converts one domain and the other domain into the image of the white or the black, and a detection unit(230) which detects the domain in which the crack exists or the domain in which the crack is nonexistent.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
