PURPOSE: A hydraulic power steering apparatus for a vehicle is provided to prevent the leakage of hydraulic oil to the space between a left cylinder and a right cylinder when a driver operates a steering wheel by forming an oil layer filled with hydraulic oil between a piston and a piston ring.;CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic power steering apparatus for a vehicle comprises a cylinder tube(137), a piston(250), and a piston ring(280). The cylinder tube comprises a left cylinder and a right cylinder(240). A rack bar(140) reciprocates in the cylinder tube. The piston transfers the rack bar to the left and the right by the pressure of the hydraulic oil supplied to the cylinder tube. The piston comprises multiple slits(255) formed by cutting out a part of its outer diameter(260).
