PURPOSE: A stainless steel separator and a coating method thereof are provided to increase the airtightness of a plating layer and improve the hardness and anticorrosion of the stainless steel separator.;CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel separator is coated with a first electroless plating film. A first electroless plating film comprises phosphorus 0.5-30 weight%, cobalt 0.1-20 weight%, and nickel 50-99.4 weight%. A second electroless plating film is coated on the first electroless plating film. The second electroless plating film comprises phosphorus 0.5-30 weight%, tungsten 0.1-15 weight%, and nickel 55-99.4 weight%. The air porosity of the first plating film is 0.1-25%.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
