UBIQUITOUS INJECTABLE, THERMO-REVERSIBLE GEL FOR HYDROPHOBIC AND HYDROPHILIC DRUG DELIVERY

PURPOSE: A temperature-sensitive gel which is able to transfer hydrophobic and hydrophilic drugs is provided to use in drug delivery system and to ensure biocompatibility and biodegradability. CONSTITUTION: A temperature-sensitive gel for drug delivery contains temperature-reversible polysaccharide and pluronic synthetic polymer. The drug is hydrophilic or hydrophobic. The content ratio of the of the polysaccharide:pluronic is 1:0.1-1:1 in case of hydrophilic drug. The content ratio of the polysaccharide:pluronic is 1:0.01-1:0.1. The temperature-reversible polysaccharide is methylcellulose. A composition for sustained release drug delivery contains the temperature-sensitive gel and hydrophilic and/or hydrophobic drug.
