PURPOSE: A method for controlling FOD voltage in a hard disk drive is provided to maintain constant floating height of a magnetic head in the circumferential direction of a disk even when the disk is deformed.;CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling FOD voltage in a hard disk drive comprises steps of: calculating a reference FOD voltage profile indicating the relation between the floating height of a magnetic head and FOD voltage, calculating a change in the floating height of the magnetic head in the circumferential direction of a disk(111) on the basis of a magnetic signal outputted from the magnetic head(131) when the disk is rotated, calculating an application FOD voltage profile for maintaining constant floating height of the magnetic head in the circumferential direction of the disk on the basis of the floating height change and the reference FOD voltage profile, and controlling a record or playback command.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
