PURPOSE: A saliency-based lighting method for feature emphasis is provided to use gradual spotlight lighting as getting closer to a feature part, thereby realizing natural lighting in a 3D image. CONSTITUTION: Saliencies about each vertex of a 3D image are calculated(S2). Vertexes with a saliency which has a predetermined level or more are classified into at least one group. A spotlight region is generated through the classified group. A Gaussian filter is calculated about vertexes inside the spotlight region and vertexes outside the spotlight region. Illumination of the spotlight region is calculated.
