A chair for lecture is provided to have a simple structure, to perform pivoting of a leg pillar of a chair and to obtain high stability while having sufficient strength when being used. A chair for lecture includes a leg pillar(2), a pivoting leg(3), a seat plate(4), a backplate(5) and an elastic unit. The leg pillar is fixed on the bottom surface. The pivoting leg is mounted to pivot inside the leg pillar. The seat plate is fixed on the upper part of the pivoting leg. The backplate is coupled to the seat plate. The elastic unit pivots the pivoting leg in a front direction inside the leg pillar, and pivots the pivoting leg based on a shaft installed below the leg pillar. When the pivoting leg pivots, the seat plate moves forwardly and backwardly while being in contact with the upper end of the leg pillar.
