A lotus root snack and a preparing method thereof are provided to improve the texture of a snack and mouth feel as well as preference by dipping horizontally sliced lotuses in a soaking liquid. A method for preparing a lotus root snack comprises the following steps of: washing lotuses and peeling them; slicing them in a horizontal direction; rinsing the sliced lotuses to remove starch from them; steaming the lotuses; soaking the steamed lotuses in a soaking liquid, which consists of 1-50wt% of oligosaccharide, 1-50wt% of honey, 0.2-5wt% of vitamin C, 0.1-0.5wt% of salt, 1-20wt% of undiluted Schizandrae Fructus solution, 0.1-10wt% of mushroom mycelium and water, at 40~60°C for 5-48 hours; separating the lotuses from the soaking liquid; and freeze drying the lotuses.
