MARBLE CHIP COMPOSITION CAPABLE OF BEING ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY USED AND OBTAINING EXCELLENT TRANSPARENCY USING A NON-HALOGEN RESIN AS A BASE RESIN AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A MARBLE CHIP FOR AN ARTIFICIAL MARBLE

PURPOSE: A marble chip is provided to obtain high transparency while having same specific gravity and hardness as a base material of an artificial marble, to be evenly distributed within the artificial marble, and to obtain excellent sanding property of the marble chip.;CONSTITUTION: A marble chip composition includes an epoxy resin, a glass frit, and a hardener. The content of the glass frit is 30~150 parts by weight based on 100.0 parts by weight of a non-halogen epoxy resin. The glass frit has a particle size of 0.15~1.4 mm. A method for manufacturing the marble chip for an artificial marble comprises the following steps: deaerating the marble chip composition using a vacuum deflator; putting the deaerated marble composition into a molding frame and hardening the composition by thermally treating the composition at 70~90 °C; and cooling the hardened marble chip composition and smashing the cooled composition.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
