PURPOSE: An electrode for a cold-cathode discharge tube and the cold-cathode discharge tube are provide to improve processability by forming an electrode having small molybdenum.;CONSTITUTION: A cold cathode discharge tube(100) comprises a glass tube(11) and a sealing glass(12) hermetically closing the both ends of the glass tube. An internal space(16) is divided by the glass tube and the sealing glass. The material of the glass tube is a silica glass, a lead glass, a soda glass, and low lead glass etc. A rare gas and mercury are sealed in the internal space.
