FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metal deformation process and can be used at manufacturing of upsetting machines of forging for details of trunnion ball type used in motor transport. At the first passage of forging by upset of forging part it is implemented conic set of metal. At the second passage to conical set by upsetting it is given mushroom-like form. Simultaneously it is formed axial hollow of cone-shaped form. At the third passage it is implemented preliminary broaching-distribution of mushroom-like thickening without changing of its length. At the fourth passage it is implemented final broaching-distribution of received at the third passage thickening. Additionally it is formed walls of hollow spherical thickening by backward extrusion. It is provided ratio of thickening length of received at the third passage, to length of spherical thickening, received at the fourth passage, ≤1. Ratio of depth of broached on specified third and fourth passages cavities 1.;EFFECT: increasing forging quality.;12 dwg
