Proposed method pertains to fuel feed in large-size medium-rpm multi-cylinder diesel engine with fuel injection that incorporates turbo compressor and is used to drive railway locomotive. It allows engine rpm and fuel combustion efficient control and reducing engine harmful exhaust. In compliance with this method, fuel feed control is used to control engine rpm via first control feedback loop and generate engine fuel demand function proceeding from engine operating performances, and to forecast expected engine functions to optimise fuel feed via second, forecasting control loop. Proposed system controls fuel feed in large-size medium-rpm multi-cylinder diesel engine with fuel injection, that incorporates turbo compressor, and is used to drive railway locomotive. It comprises first control loop that adjusts engine rpm proceeding from preset engine rpm and representing a feedback control loop and second control loop that generates engine fuel demand function proceeding from engine operating performances, and to forecast expected engine functions to optimise fuel feed via second, forecasting control loop.
