METHOD OF TREATING CONGENITAL ASSYMETRIC KEELED CHEST IN CHILDREN

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention concerns surgery and can be applied for treating congenital asymmetric keeled chest - parasternal costal humpback in children. From chest distortion on middle axillary line in the V-th and VI-th intercostal spaces, there are inserted trocars wherethrough pneumothoraxes are formed. Changed ribs are visualised from the chest cavity. The ribs are incised slightly at the height of deformation for 2/3 thickness of their costal cartilages. The pneumothoraxes are removed. A transverse skin incision is performed in the middle of a costal humpback, and lateral chest incisions are in line therewith to form horizontal and vertical subdermal tunnels over costal deformation. A straight metal plate is introduced through the transverse skin incision into the vertical subdermal tunnel and arranged along the length of the costal humpback. A curved plate is fixed through the incision on the lateral chest in the horizontal subdermal tunnel and arranged perpendicularly over the vertical plate.;EFFECT: method allows maintaining chest capacity, providing stable fixation.;1 ex, 6 dwg
